first_imgNEW YORK, NY — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is planning to implement a series of new security requirements for elite travelers as they fly on their private jets, according to a report in yesterday’s USA Today.According to the newspaper, “The new regulations, expected to be proposed in coming months, stop short of passenger screening, but would aim to prevent someone from flying a small plane, possibly packed with explosives, into a building.”Michal Morgan, TSA head of general aviation security, said the government is worried about private jets transporting hazardous materials.“The new security proposals must be workable and should strike the right balance between the need for security and for mobility,” said Dan Hubbard, spokesman for the National Business Aviation Association, a trade group for businesses with private aircraft was quoted in the paper.last_img
